We exist, because "we" are as eternal as God Himself!

The same is not true of our body, which is perishable.

Since "we" have, and will, exist always, "we" also will need a body as "our" abode. Just as a body can not live without a soul, same way a soul can not live without a body. Imgine that is the work of a single personalty ie God to allocate different bodies to house the souls as "they" shed the existing bodies.

So the purpose is to ask the God, Is there any way to come out of this ordeal? Since God says that He can be contacted only through the guidance of a saint, we need to find a saint.

Ananda-Happiness.

Krishna's body is sac-cid-ananda, eternal, knowledge and blissful as per the statement of Lord Brahma, Isvara parama Krishna Sac-cid-ananda Vigharaha,

See below, Introduction to Bhagavad-gita-as-it-is
by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

When we mention the name Krishna, we do not refer to any sectarian name. Krishna means the highest pleasure, and it is confirmed that the Supreme Lord is the reservoir or storehouse of all pleasure. We are all hankering after pleasure. Ananda-mayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). The living entities, like the Lord, are full of consciousness, and they are after happiness. The Lord is perpetually happy, and if the living entities associate with the Lord, cooperate with Him and take part in His association, then they also become happy.

The Lord descends to this mortal world to show His pastimes in Vrndavana, which are full of happiness. When Lord Sri Krishna was in Vrndavana, His activities with His cowherd boyfriends, with His damsel friends, with the other inhabitants of Vrndavana and with the cows were all full of happiness. The total population of Vrndavana knew nothing but Krishna. But Lord Krishna even discouraged His father Nanda Maharaja from worshiping the demigod Indra, because He wanted to establish the fact that people need not worship any demigod. They need only worship the Supreme Lord, because their ultimate goal is to return to His abode.

Vaishnavi, as you said, we all do a lot of things while we are in this life, in this world. In fact we can say that we do nothing but 3 activities: we live, we seek for pleasure and we serve.

In this material condition we are as much limited, that our activity of living is conditioned by time factor, that forces us to live in different bodies, one after another. Our activity of seeking for pleasure is limited by the the 3 times, past, present and future, that makes us to yearn for a future pleasure or lament a past pleasure which we have lost, or fear to lost some pleasure gained before, and present time is divided by those feelings of yearning and lamentation. And our activity of serving is limited by our own selfishness. We can serve the whole world, just the own nation, the own town, the own neighborhood, the own family, nobody but my pets or plants, or absolutely nothing but me, but the serving inclination is still there.

So, the purpose of our existence in eternity is do exactly the same 3 activities: live, enjoy and serve, but in an unlimited way. Unlimited because of the absense of the material environment, always submited to Time factor, and the presence of the absolute spiritual energy. Once inside the espiritual energy we can act just as normal people, but never again conditioned. We can live forever without body changes, enjoy always the same pleasure by not fearing it´s lost or ending, and serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who, by beeing full and complete, does not keep for Him nothing of our service, but give it back to us billions times enhanced.

The question would be then, how can we get in touch with that spiritual nature?

Excellent question. In truth, eternal life would be intolerable. The only way to spend eternity is complete oblivion.

The purpose of my existence is one which I have decided upon. Life itself has only the purpose of making more life. Those of us who are conscious have the responsibility of making that life useful and interesting.

Yes it is true we live and we die, so only that is of consequence what we achieve in our lives. We have to always strive hard to achieve our goals, to contribute for the betterment of humanity and sacrifice, even our lives for our fellow humans. Death is a reality, there is no need to think about it.

The purpose of this existence is to allow God to decide whether you enter to heaven or hell, by the things you do in this life.

The Meaning of Life is To Give Life.

For The Meaning of Life is the answer to this question:

God, what is Your purpose of Existence?

For God's purpose of Existence itself defines the purpose of all that exists.

I asked God that question...

God answered, "My purpose of Existence is To give life. Since you are made in My image after My likeness, then YOUR purpose of existence is to give life."

Everything that exists is an expression of God's thinking; thus, everything reflects God's thinking.

God gives life by His unique existence, and receives life when He gives life. All of existence gives life by its unique existence to that which receives life from its unique existence. This is Nature - the union of all living (eternal) things.

You are here to give life by your unique existence to that which receives life from your unique existence. So do what you love that nourishes those who love what you love.

This is your purpose.

To give life.
