I just joined the gym myself. However, I lost 20 lbs before I did. I changed my diet. I stopped drinking cokes, started drinking water. I eat less-use a small plate. Started walking a little at home. The personal trainer at the gym said that 80% of weight loss is from diet. Just be careful not to get too drastic as far as cutting calories.- Your body will freak out. Expect a plateau-don't get discouraged. Build muscle by weight training-muscles need more calories to survive than fat. Use an appetite suppressant if needed like Hoodia-works pretty good. I have some websites for you to look at. Also reward yourself-have a day off where you can eat what you want-and if you have a severe craving for something bad-go ahead and have it-the longer you put it off, the worse the outcome.

I would go to a local gym near you and get a free personal trainer consultation. Remember to take a lot of notes during this. They will probably start you on a program of lifting weights a minimum of 2-3 times a week and at least 20-30min of cardio 5 days a week. They will also show you how to use all of the machines, so you don't feel overwhelmed and confused. Also, if it is calorie intake is a concern check out weight watchers, they have repeat consultations and have been very successful for many people. Remember to give yourself a pat on the back, you are young and really not that much over your goal weight, you will be at 125 pounds in no time. Good Luck!

Ok while running will help you lose weight if you don't usually run then doing it 3 times a day will kick your butt. I would recommend start off by looking at what you are eating throughout the day. Keep a food journal if you would like to. Then start walking around your neighborhood or on a treadmill for at least 30minutes 3-4 times a week. I like the treadmill best b/c of the incline and you can see how fast you are walking. You should see some results. Also check out Leslie's Walk at Home program...she is great and you can find some articles from her in Woman's day magazine.
