I want to applaud you for being rude & ad-hominus to Christians. Seriously. You are at least living out your beliefs...and it is refreshing to see consistency.

Edit 1
Yes I know both sides do it...but I THINK, Christians are typically not trying to be rude or to attack. I have been accused of being rude when, in fact, I am trying to be clear & consciece.

Edit 2
Sho-Nuff I am generalizing & am giving cudos to those who live out their philosophy of life
no God=no rules OR no God=the mightiest person becomes the rule setter.

Edit 3
No sarcasm- I am serious. No ad hominum here.
I was just reading a book on philosophies of life & thought to myself, "You know, all those atheists on Q&A who are jerks (yes others are too), hey, at least they are being consistent and not trying to act religious. I'm gonna give 'em credit for that."

Edit, what 4?
I am talking about the atheists on this site, who ARE rude & like to meddle.

interesting view point. im not an atheist, but i, as an agnostic, get extremely rude and irrational behavior from christians all the time...

the difference between christians and atheists, is christians are supposed to be living by a book. their rules for life are written down. atheists arent. they arent held to those rules in your book.

so whos the hypocrit?

Hello there, its mighty cold in PA, USA today! I'm a Christian:
Look, this is the real deal - I don't care what group you want to look at, Christian, Athiest, Buddhist, or a knitting circle,
you are always gonna find nice people, ignorant people, funny, sad, stupid, lame,
honest, liars, you name it, it'll be there.
What is really refreshing is that we are all on here, hashing it out, but then that one post comes in where everybody sees that its somebody in trouble, and regardless of what somebody's beliefs are or aren't, everybody is careful, respectful, and really trying to be of some help.
And that is across the board, my friend.
Thats whats refreshing and consistant.
I give props to everybody on this forum, everybody.

funny... let me get some quotes of christians being rude for you, so you can see both sides (these are only from yesterday)

Monica L.
"THE ATHEISTS ARE ALL PSYCHO KILLER FIENDS. WATCH YOUR KIDDIES! HERE THEY COME! "
"TALKING TO AN ATHEIST IS LIKE TALKING TO A BRICK WALL, THEY'RE THICK! ONLY THE BRICK WALL IS SMARTER THAN THEY ARE, OF COURSE. " and she goes on and on, never doing anything but insult others.

Mahal:
"You're a good example of why I constantly refer to Atheists as "sub-human", a-moral, and uneducated. It's really easy for Christians to get the best of you in any debate. It really must be embarrassing for you. "

s l
"Are atheists just stupid or are they demons or working for Satan? dont bother with your stupid atheist answers . i do know enough to know not to listen to someone that is surronded by miricles and is told repeatedly the right answer yet makes the choice to go to hell . cant waste my time reading your stupid remarks "
"After a certain point should christains help athesits by burning them say burning there hands off so they feel
a tiny bit of the pain they will feel in hell. i really want to help them but they fail time and again to listen . would it not be more loving to just burn off one or there hands or even just a finger so they know the fear they should have."
" if i were in charge now i would have cast all the athethists into hell already"

As written, it seems you are referring to all atheists who answer/ask on this site. That being the case, I want to applaud you for this monumental achievement in data-mining and social research - or whatever method you used to evaluate all the atheists and their answers on here.

I'm sure others would have simply posted pseudo-ironic and uninformed generalizations. Mark my words, you have a great future in this field.

1) When did I do that? Post the ad homs I've used.
2) What beliefs?
3) I'm consistently an atheist!
4) Does condescension count as an ad hom? If so, kudos to YOU!

Shall I, in turn, applaud your sweeping generalities? Because I don't reply in a rude manner, I give the facts as I understand them... my words are only as weighty as you perceive them.

Not all atheists are rude and ad-hominus to Christians. Being an atheist doesn't necessarily mean being against Christians.

Thank you sir. We aspire to someday murder Jews and old women by the tens of thousands for witchcraft and heresy and steal their property in the name of O'Hare so that we can sneer down our noses from the lofty heights Christians have achieved.

living out what beliefs? the only common denominator among atheists is a lack of belief in gods.

and the rudeness and ad hominem attacks come from both sides.

edit: you're making baseless and erroneous assumptions about the philosophies of people you don't even know.
