I just saw this answer to one of my questions:

"when i witness to someone i do so out of true belief and concern that if i dont, you are in danger of hell.
Also did you know that in the end when i stand before God that i will be held accountable?that if i had the oppurtunity to witness to you and i did,nt .and you ended up in hell because you never heard the good news then your blood is on my head?"

Please rest assured, my soul is not in need of your idiotic religious dogma! Please keep your religion to yourselves!

There's no scriptural evidence for that.. that's twisted doctrine coming from a pulpit, btw.
I'd like to respond to that person by asking them if they really believe that in the Western world, that they believe any of us haven't heard the "gospel" at least 100 times in our lives?

I like Father K's response.. if more christians behaved like he did, there would be a lot more of us interested in what they have to say.

I don't need anyone to witness to me. Like about 90% of American atheists, I was raised in a believing family. I came to my non-belief truly and honestly, through a very thorough and years-long search for the truth. I have found my truth: That god is nonexistent.

I hereby relieve all Christians of any responsibility for my equally nonexistent soul.

Before you get too freaked out, remember you're in R&S. The person who mentioned that to you appears to be a bit confused. We all have our own confusions to deal with. I don't apply the same definition of witness. I have a true desire to learn and share with anyone interested in visiting with me. God has a very specific purpose for those called to witness, and they are given the means to do so by God. You don't just go out looking for them, they come to you.

Most of us who are something other than Christian have been "witnessed" to already at least once, and often many times more than that.

It turns a lot more people OFF to Christianity than ON to it.

I am curious, if you feel you have a soul, why are you not worried about where that soul will spend eternity. Just one of those questions that make people go hmmmmm.

I don't need nor do I want any Christians witnessing to me. They can keep their God, and I'll stick with mine.

I don't mind if there is real love in the message. I dislike it when I am being told a scripted message from an uncaring stranger.

The answerer left out the lost will be saying to the saved, "You knew and you didn't tell me?"

Saul of Tarsus didn't want to be witnessed to either...

Have a nice day. :)

I dislike it as well.

I like what St. Francis said:

"Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words."

Eskimo: "If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?"
Priest: "No, not if you did not know."
Eskimo: "Then why did you tell me?"
