I have tried everything. I've spanked, put her in time out, taken out all furniture in her room except her mattress. She agrues with me all the time and she'll stay in her room and cry for hours. She stacks chairs ontop of tables to get things that I've put out of her reach. She'll stand on anything she can think of. We have to lock everything but if she wants it bad enough she'll figure out how to get it. I've tried rewards but that doesn't work either. I just don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions or advise is wanted!1 HELP PLEASE!!!

Please go to your nearset library or bookstore and get a copy of "Raising Your Spirited Child" http://www.amazon.com/Raising-Your-Spirited-Child-Perceptive/dp/0060923288copy It helped soooooo much when my dd was that age.

I also like "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline" http://www.amazon.com/Easy-Love-Difficult-Discipline-Cooperation/dp/0060007753 and "Positive discipline
http://www.amazon.com/Positive-Discipline-Preschoolers-Revised-Second/dp/0761515151

Sounds like you need some new parenting strategies. Please read at least one of these.

Start with the basics. 10 hours of sleep at night a nap in the afternoon and well balanced meals. Don't forget exercise or outdoor playtime every day!

My daughter is 33mos and acts that way when she's hungry/eaten junk or over tired. If she eats a healthy lunch, protein, whole grains and fruit, she naps well and doesn't act up.

i have the same problems with my three year old. let them know that they dont get what they want all the time. like for example okay no snack for lunch since you keep making a mess and i am spending to much time cleaning it up. rewarding them is not the way to go because then they think that they are always going to get something. I learned my lesson. when she is bad she goes in her time out chair and the more she screams, yells or argues the longer she will stay in the time out chair. it works wonders. I do not like to punish my daughter but if i dont when she gets older she will walk all over me. I dont l think that you want that to happen because they learn now you will stay in control.

I don't really have any advice but wanted to let you know you are not alone. My second daughter is now 4 1/2 and acts the same way(has for a couple of years now) It just doesn't matter what form of punishment I use it doesn't seem to bother her.

DO NOT let a doctor put her on med's at such a young age.

Believe me she will grow out of it,if u take her to the doctor they will tell u she needs medication, thats what they told me when I took my son to be checked.I think that med at a very young age is bad for them, just be patient I know its hard but my kid grew out of it and now i feel very good that I didnt let them put him on med.

It sounds like she needs something to do with all that energy. Take her outside, to the park, to gymnastics class, etc. I know kids are frustrating sometimes but if she's being punished everyday she's not going to be very happy.
