Does the 18 year old son live with the parents, rent free, using their toiletries, their utilities, their phone, their cable, their internet service, eating their food, etc? If so, then the son should respect the parents' wishes regardless of how "unfair" they may seem. IF he's paying rent, buying groceries, or helping with the bills, then he should be able to come & go as he pleases, as long as 1) it's not disruptive to the parents lifestyle / home life, 2)he's not involved in anything illegal that might follow him back to his parents' home, 3)he's not having friends over without his parents permission. Rent is for the SON, NOT the son and his friends!

Respect is the key. If you want to be TREATED like a responsible adult, you must BEHAVE like one!

Depends on the state you live in. Most states set the legal age at 18 but, if you're living in your parents house, you do NOT have the right to tell them how to do things. If they set certain rules and you're going to accept their generosity in housing, clothing and feeding you then you need to follow their rules. If you don't like it, either keep your mouth shut or get a job and move out. Anything else is just going to cause enormous friction. They do NOT have to allow you to live there any longer. Basically, you shouldn't be unless you are going to college. Judging from your spelling and grammar, I doubt that you would be able to get into college right now.

If you A) live under thier roof, B) they buy all your food, your clothes, you car, your tuition and/or give you money for other things C) you have no job and/or aren't in school...then yes, they have the right to set rules and you should respect them and follow them. At 18, if you don't like the rules, you are old enough to find job and start to pay for your own place, your own way.

Technically, No, they don't have that right. However, if you live in their home and wish to continue to live in their home they do have that right.
