The word religion comes from the greek religos which means "to come from"..

Where did humans come from? The Earth? Or Devine creationalism? Which is more likely?

Should people who believe in evolution actually be worshiping the Earth?

The Native American tribes of North America all had a certain reverence for the Earth. It gave them life, food, clothes,.. Just as it does us.. But we have confused this with organized religion that is usually forced on children, the poor, etc..

Shouldn't we all care a little more about the Earth? Isn't it where we came from? Where we will return to? Where we get our food, clothes, shelter? Don't we depend on it for everything? Isn't it hubric to disease it the way we have?

Many spiritual atheists, pagans and other religions too do hold the Earth in high esteem.

What is your point?

We just need to convince the Christian governments that Earth is important. Perhaps then they will stop worrying so much about how to make fossil fuels cheaper and start coming up with better alternative fuels.

Creationism is now no longer taught in public colleges. the in reality position the position it truly is authorized to study is deepest Christian colleges. regardless of the truth that creationism is banned from public colleges, I did have a severe college biology instructor at my public severe college contained in the U.S. practice us something stated as "smart layout" - some type of concept that "fills contained in the blanks" with God as an answer to each little thing that technology can't practice. He became a fundamentalist, and positioned loopholes through the ban by technique of practise us what he believed to be genuine ("creationism" and "smart layout") as THEORIES, insisting that because evolution is a concept, all theories could be presented. He in no way informed us one became suitable over the others, yet informed us to study the data and to make our own judgements as to which concept we supported. i became in reality 14 even as he taught this lesson, and that i became impressionable sufficient to have self belief that smart layout became a reputable concept. Now that i'm older and understand more suitable of the data, i'm demanding by technique of the very undeniable truth that this kind of training could properly be popular contained in the U.S. public college equipment.

Believing in evolution doesn't entail worshipping anything. By your logic, we should all be worshipping apes.

Yes, we should care about Earth, because it's the only planet we've got and we're screwing it up, not because it's in any way a deity.

The word "religion" comes from Latin "religionem" meaning "respect for what is sacred." The derivation of the Latin may be from "relegere" or "to go through or read again."

I dont know about you, but I didnt come from the earth... The Lord gave us the earth for our good pleasure. Sure, dont PURPOSLY destroy it, but if it happens in the midst of day-to-day activities, so be it... The world is not going to end from global warming anyway, the bible tells us that...

Come on you advocate worshiping the Earth. Get real. Bad enough to worship a fantasy we piss on the Earth.

God Who created the universe, created humans who evolved from creation. Our soul lives on with God when our bodies return to the earth.

We should certainly live in awe of the natural processes that led to our existence, and we should certainly take more care of the planet on which our lives depend, but to actually worship it? No, I don't think so.
