A Yahoo user has been emailing me, telling me things such as:
"In fact the evidence of man coexisting with dinosaurs is so overwhelming that I continue to be surprised that it is so widely rejected."

Without resorting to too much polemic, I would like to know just why there are people around today who literally believe in the Flintstones? Are they simply ignorant? Are they brainwashed much like cult members? Do they have a strong need to belong, regardless of what that necessitates? Are they not able to use logic and rationality, not to mention common sense? Do the millions of volumes of scientific works escape their academic grasp? Is everything relative? Is science merely about opinion? Can you simply will your way out of the laws of Nature, much like Wile E. Coyote?

Well, I like the comment of H. L. Mencken:

"Nonody ever went broke by underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

Calling them ignorant, brainwashed, and not having common sense only proves that you haven't quite achieved a distance from those common ancestors that you so joyfully embrace.
