They will find him. What you can do is file an Injured Spouse (Form 8379) and they will prorate the return between the 2 of you and just take the portion of the return attributed to him and give you the refund attributed to you.

As in, the mother of the child doesn't know where he lives? So you're asking if when you file your taxes the IRS will share that information with the court? Yes, they probably will. It doesn't matter if he filed alone or with you, when you're married both names go on the taxes, even if filing separately.

I know from personal experience on the other side that the court caseworkers are able to search driver's license databases, too.

Or.. are you asking if they will take a refund from you to go towards the child support? If a judgment is against him for child support that he isn't paying, the mother of the other child can get that money to go towards that debt.

Yes they will. And if he has a debt with the child support agency then any tax that he gets back will go to child support. My ex hasn't done his taxes for the last 3 years for this very reason.
