religion is unable to stop a fanatic/terrorist/racist/...to do sin, what we all are facing in todays world is religious based sin. Should we abandon religion? Be it christians, muslims, hindoos, budhists....every corner of world they are present as destructive force. Bible /koran/etc. are meaningless for them because it never promises the practical solution . pls dont say God will show them right path, this philosophical/spritual/emotional preaches never gave a practical answer. do you think religion and their holly books are wastage of humans energy? Be rational, and dont be christian/muslim...to solve this ever-lasting problem related with religious mind? Cant we ask people to become more human being and less religious?

The most cruel, antisocial cheats that I met have been very religious people, who follow the religion to the word. I think it would be a good idea to abandon all religions and follow the religion of love, kindness, gentleness, selflessness, sacrifice for humanity etc.

Contrary to popular belief, not all religious acts of violence are from the middle east. Infact, there are many christians hating jews in America. Religion is a giant cause of violence, hate, murder, and terrorism. I personally think killing another because they don't believe the same thing as you is not only appauling, but utterly moronic. And I've been told that in some religions they TEACH you to hate other religions. How are religions helping the world?
Infact, this is nothing new. Violent acts of religion have been around for a long time. The Crusade, anyone? My point is, if religions are only hurting the world, why keep them?

Without religion we wouldn't be moral-ridden bastards. We would be the same as now, except no one would be saying "Get outta my face you dirty jew" or "I wouldn't let a freakin' muslim in mah contry!". And there would be no debate on gay marriages, we would have more time for our governments to focus on the REAL ISSUES.

All of us are doing nothing but sin! We think that a thief is a sinner and not we, because we have taken our selves to be the body. The body is "our" abode.

Whenever we will be able to meet a saint and follow his advice, we will be refraining from doing sin.

So I agree with you that there actually is no point following a religion as we are doing today. And that is true for Muslims, Christians, Hindus and all the religions alike.

We need to understand the real thing. When will that day come?

Well in fact not all religion teaches that cruelity is bad. Some say killing to protect the purity of their religion is a good thing. Others say if you kill to propagate their religion it is good. Yet others say if your karma is to kill then go ahead and kill. Some others say in any case it is the will of God ultimately so go ahead and do anything in the name of religion.
There is a phenominal increase in religious fundamentalism that says do anything to protect the onslaught on their religion this gives rise to intolerance and haterate.

Religious people are not NECESSARILY the followers of God. They are the followers of THEIR UNDERSTANDING of God from their respective religion, which may not be correct depending on their intellect. So they may sin. In order to be free from sinning, one has to be SPIRITUAL, and not necessarily RELIGIOUS!
