I'm getting a DOD physical exam next month because I'm joining the Navy ROTC. does anyone know if having tooth implants will disqualify the medical exam? the implants use titanium tooth roots and my friend told me he was turned down by the marines because he had titanium jaw re-enforcements.

You will be able to sign up, but you most likely won't be able to fly for the Navy.

You would make a good lock on target for radar, heck yeah they would take ya if under attack put you in a dingy and use as bait, Sorry just Had to say that. You never know about the military, but normally they won't take anyone who has Been hurt or has broken bones, don't want the responsibility of paying you for the rest of your life if you redamge it and you get a medical discharge because of it. Give it a shot it's all you can do.

Titanium jaw re-inforcements are a totally different thing than what you have. Tooth implants, regardless of what they're made of, should be okay and not cause you any problems.

Air Force ROTC: No intentional alteration of any body part that deforms or otherwise detracts from a professional military image, decorative tooth filing.

Henry is right, dental implants will disqualify you from any flight MOS. I got DQd from Army flight for cavities, for crissakes.
If you just want to be a sailorboy, it should be no problem. Of course, the marines take toothless droolers all day long.

I wouldnt think so. They dont pose any longterm problems. And you could bite your way out of a hairy situation. Id say the Marines would be more than willing because we are all killers.
