This happens on and off. Alot of times I wake up and I have bumps/rash forming on my ankles, stomach, chest, and sometimes arms. My boyfriend, however, doesn't experience any of this at all. Sometimes it iches so badly that I draw blood and have scars on my skin from where I've scratched the scabs too. thats my own fault*. But do we have bed bugs or some other critter in our bed? And why do I only experience these things and not him? How do we get rid of them?

I wash the blankets and sheets once a week. The bumps look like mosquito bites, and are often 3 or so bites around the same area. It's driving me crazy!

Everyone has bed bugs, they are called dust mites. Some people are allergic to them, which is why you might have a rash. They are normally harmless, and live off your dead skin. (I know, gross.) If you want to get rid of them vacuum your mattress really well and wash all your linens, but you will have to do this at least once a week. For a more permanent solution, you could buy one of the foam mattresses, which are really comfortable and do not allow the bugs to survive.

It might be spiders, my home is in more rural area and in the winter the spiders like to come in, and sometimes bite. I rarely get bites but my sister who shares a room with me has a lot and all the time in the winter. I guess it is just you more attracting to the critters.

you could be allergic to dust mites. there are millions of dust mites in pillows and the matress so it doesn't matter if you clean the sheets. get a matress cover that is totally sealed and pillow cases that are also. The matress cover is about 100 bucks and bed bath and beyond for a good one. See if that works. That will stop the dust mites from touching you which may be causing you to break out and cause you to itch. if that doesn't work e-mail me and i'll suggest something else.

Look in the creases of your mattress during daylight hours. If you see little brown things, smaller than a grain of rice - those are probably bedbugs. You can get them from hotels, even fancy hotels ... they have made quite a resurgence in the last year or two.
