My pomeranian is 1 year old. She always seems like an energentic and happy puppy but today I was sick and stayed home from school. This morning I knew something was wrong because she would not get out of bed. Then I ate breakfast and she didn't want any of my food (Unusual for her) This aftertoon she threw up 3 or 4 times but it was not vomit with food in it because she has not ate today. It was like foamy spit. Then she starting throwing up spit that was browish red. All together she has threw up about 6 times and I'm really scared. I called the vet all he said was as long as it was spit and not actual food it was fine but it still worries me. What should I do and has anyone else had this happen to their pet?

foamy stuff is bile,, as for brownish red,, that sounds like bleeding in the intestines somewhere,,,has she gotten into something that she could have ingested?? a sharp piece of plastic perhaps?? do not feed her - give her some plain white rice ( cooked) and some boiled chicken breast - offer a very small amount.. and also make sure she has plenty of fresh water. see what tomorrow brings... if she is still the same.. go to the vets -- ****make sure she is having bowel movements ( to rule out an obstruction)

If it worries you, call the vet back and touch base again. It's possible that the brownish red is just leftover food that's tinted her vomit. But, it's also possible that it's blood. Call again, speak with the actual vet (not the front desk people), and get a better explanation of what's going on. If you are still concerned, bring her in to another vet who will take the time to address your concerns.

Feed her some raw egg mixed with some fat free plain yogurt.. warm a little in the mircowave like 15 seconds.
This is very enticing food for dogs and cats and can usually help them get down some beneficial food too.

You can cook some rice and mix in also.. but not necessary.

Not better tomorrow.. then take a trip to the vets

GOOD LUCK

My dog went throught the same thing. Her spit was a little yellowish brown and had baby bubbles in it. Basically its that she ate something that upset her tummy. The virus that she got went away the day after. Just try to make her drink water. Even if u have to force it too her, just dont let her get dehydrated. I hope your dog gets well.

It is probaly turning brown because her stomach is exhausted from throwing nothing up.It has become inflamed.See if you can get her to drink some water with sugar in to make it more appealing. This won't stop her being sick but it will give her something to throw up to take the strain off her stomach. It may even turn to brown sick with bits of red in that look like blood clots. She won't eat because she feels nausea.Give her something light to eat tomorrow like scrambled egg & rice. This will give her stomach time to recover.

You need to take her to the vet if she doesn't stop throwing up by tomorrow. There's a chance she may have eaten or licked something she shouldn't have. (i.e. cleaner on the floor, bird feces outside etc.).
Anytime this happened to my dog, the vet would just tell me to fast my pup for a day or two and he will get it out of his system.

First of all, make sure she hasn't ate any chocolate(poison for dogs). second, cook some rice, and mix with plain fat free yogurt, nuke in microwave. Give small portion to dog. Next day if dog isn't better take her to the vet A.S.A.P. GOOD LUCK

If it was my dog, I'd call another vet...it doesn't sound good! Has your dog had her shots? are you sure she's not pregnant? Hopefully it's something easy, but sometimes parvo starts with brown (bloody) vomit, accompanied by diareaha. They won't eat or drink and get dehydrated. You can actually use Pepto Bismo and Gatorade for early parvo.
