I thought three was a good age to start socialising him into the world. Should i tell him off when he picks up cigarette butts and tries to light them with his zippo. Also should I tell him off because he throws stones at passing cars???

Riiggghht. You're not fooling anyone. Everyone knows that kids don't even start playing in the streets until they're four. Are you trying to impress us by pretending that your kid was ready for the streets at three?

EXCUSE ME IS THIS A SERIOUS QUESTION? I hope not however if it is what the h***? You should teach your children better than that it should of never got to this point. WHY would a FOUR year old have a zippo. Teach him that cigarette buts are icky! Tell him that when you through rocks at cars it hurts them - he knows that he doesn't like to be hurt - and that it is mean and wrong to do this. And WHAT do you mean by he plays in the street. He is FOUR you are responsible for keeping hims safe KEEP HIM OUT OF THE STREET!!

Good habits he's picked up from you. How did he get a Zippo? What kind of parent are you to let him play in the street?

well, are oyu outside with your child when all this happens? You definately should be. Also, you should definately make sure oyur child knows not to throw stones at cars and to not pick up cigarette butts. My brother went to jail for the night for throwing stones at cars. Not a fun experience. You don't want to have to go through it. If your kid still doesn't listen to oyu then I don think that they aren't quite ready to be playing independently yet.

If you bought him his own cigarettes he wouldn't be having to try to smoke the butts. Stop being so cheap. Throwing stones are passing cars is cute. He is just being friendly, don't be so harsh.

Best advice I can give you is to put your child in a safe place and go play on a highway. Don't worry about the cars, they will stop for you...eventually.
