I took Zoloft for Postpartum Depression, and it actually made me feel a lot worse. Have you taken anything else along with it? If you still have paperwork from filling your meds, there should be a list of side effects. If not, call the pharmacist and ask them about it. Obviously as you can tell it's never a good idea to take other than directed dosage on meds. Chances are your body isn't used to it because you had gone off of it for a period of time. This is why they start you at the lower dosage, also preventing additional side effects. I also suggest talking to your doctor. Well, I hope you are feeling better. I noticed you asked this question a week ago. Take care.

The problem is this; since you took yourself off your meds, you obviously thought that you didn't need them anymore. And in actuality, you probably are doing better. Of course, you should consult your doctor but my guess would be that you don't need such a high dosage at this point.

self medicating is not a good idea and can lead to problems you need to go to the doctor and do it the way he/she prescribes ussually you slowly go up on these types of meds until you reach the dose best suited for you again the doctor can determine that.

never change your meds on your own, it is really hard on your system, and it can make you feel horrible, talk to a doctor about this if you feel that they will understand, they really don't like you messing with your meds, and for a good reason, zoloft never made me feel very well, it made me suicidal.

Its never wise to change the way you take your prescription meds. Call your doctors office and ask for advice.

funny in what way?

go and see your doctor or call a pharmacist - they are better informed about the medication and they will be able to answer your questions about it.
