I remember being embarrassed that my dad was a preacher for some reason. The teacher asked each of us what our dad did and I answered "clergyman" hoping no one would know what that was! I'm definitely not ashamed now! He was a great man! I miss him now.....

My dad drove and pumped a sh*it truck! Septic man!! And my mom was a lunch lady... still is.... I was terrible embarrassed in middle school but by high school, I learned to tell people he was a truck driver. Funny, I was never embarrassed later in life but other people would be embarrassed if I told them who he worked for.

Was never ashamed of what they did for a living. But, I used to be ashamed of my house. When in junior high we lived in a big ol' gray shingled house. I hated that place. Thought is was so ugly and was embarrassed to have my friends come over.

No, I'm not embarrassed at all. They did what they could at the time and always made sure I had a roof over my head and food on the table. Also, lots of money does not guarantee happiness!!

No. My father was a common worker in a warehouse. I think his title was Stock Clerk. So what. He worked hard, earned an honest living, and provided for us.

My daddy was a common hard working man. What he did was not important. That he provided for us and left this world owing no one is all that matters.
