What you should be asking is "How would the new Hyundai plastic car hold up in a hot parking lot on a summer day while shopping or something?"

They don't make an all plastic exterior, at least that is a production model. If they make a concept car that is plastic, then they are thinking outside the box, and all answers would be speculative. As far as a crash goes, Air bags do the protecting. All cars have plastic or polymer bumpers and lots of plastic parts.

Probably just fine. Bodywork doesn't help much in an accident - all the crash protection stuff is under the skin and built into the frame. Big, metal-bodied cars may seem stronger, but it isn't always the case.

Saturns seem to have an above average crash rating. They are made of plastic (on the exterior).

Corvettes have been made of fiberglass for over 50 years.

It's the construction of the frame not the skin.

Just about as well as any other car will hold up if involved in an accident with the tanks that soccer moms drive these days.
