It's an infection in your lymphatic system. You feel tired, run down and have swollen lymph nodes. Your doctor can do a blood test to see if you have it.

The real name is Mononucleosis. It's a virus that effects your immune system. It makes you very tired and run down all the time, some people have flu like symptoms- chills, headache, fever, sore throat, dizziness. Some people will develop a rash on parts of their body. Usually you will have swollen glands, and one tell-tell sign is the lymph nodes on the back of your head, and behind your ears swelling. Sometimes you will test positive for strep because mono can mimic strep. Basically, you just feel crummy all the time and can't get rid of it. I had it in august, and I was sick for months.

The best for it is rest, vitamins-especially b complex, and something with high doses like centrum silver. Some doctors will tell you to take green tea too, but I couldn't because I was breastfeeding and it would pass to the baby.

It's best to get seen by a doctor so they can test for it. If it isn't that, then it's a virus or bacteria, and you need to know which one you are up against.

Mononucleosis, also known as the kissing disease, is very contageous and does have to do with the liver.

You need to eat a very healthy diet, and stay in bed and rest. Some people have gotten such bad cases that they've had to go to the hospital.

Symptoms include: excessive tiredness, fever, cold/flu-like symptoms, etc.

You need to stay away from fatty foods, fried foods, junk foods, fast foods, etc. and eat things like broiled chicken breasts. You need to drink lots of water, and some herbal tea and/or nectar juices. You need to stay away from spices.

Funny thing, almost all of my friends got that at 16, together. I caught it at 19--when no one else had it. I was lucky and had a mild case--so only had to stay home resting for about 4 weeks--for some people it can be a few months.

The doctor can check by drawing blood. If you have it, he or she will give you instructions. Basically you can't take much, if any, meds, as they go to the liver--and could make you worse.
