this could be anything. but must be school appropriate. my teacher is giving us to write about ANYTHING we want... but to me its harder than her giving us a topic.

Teachers always love it when thier students get creative with history, because it shows that they have a good grasp on that subject and it would be even better if you did an essay on the Middle Ages. Get creative!!!!

What are you interested in? Typically, I guide my students in that direction. What type of essay is requested in the assignment? Is it a descriptive, a how-to, a persuasive, etc? Knowing what type of essay you are to write is helpful.
Here are some essay topics I use with my students depending on their ability and interests.
What is something you dislike about yourself?
What is something you do well?
What is your favorite room in your home and why?
What is a good neighbor?
What is the worst thing parents can do to their children?
What is your favorite time of day?
What is your idea of a dull evening?
What is the best way to treat meddlesome people?
What is something you are optimistic about?
What is something you are pessimistic about?
What is your most indispensable possession and why?
What is the meaning of "He laughs best who laughs last"?
What is your favorite song and why?
What is the best birthday present you ever received?
What is the best birthday present you could receive?
What is something that makes you feel sad?
What is your favorite book and why?
What is something that really bugs you?
What is something that really makes you angry?
What is the best advice you ever received?
What is your favorite holiday? What makes this holiday special?
What is your favorite day of the week?
What is your favorite month? Why?
What would happen if you could fly whenever you wanted? When would you use this ability?

The essay isn't the purpose of this task the ability to determine a topic is.
Basically think of something you enjoy a sport, social event, history topic your interested and then write about it. Don't bother writing about something you don't enjoy.
You could possible write something in recent events have a look at the website. Write it on yahoo answers and the rise of on line communities!!

It is easier to write an essay about "something" rather than "anything." How about an essay exploring the conflicting needs of freedom versus guidance for teenagers? You could use your current problem as an example.

How about topics that students care about...
Should vending machines in schools be banned?
Should students wear school uniforms?
Is there any value in field trips?
Should all students be required to take PE/ learn a foreign language?
Should school cafeterias offer healthier choices?
Year round school where students attend Mon-Thurs only; all Fridays become part of the weekend.

Nasa, the stars, Nature, dolphins, trees, emotions and feelings, books, family, relationships, pets, airplanes, rainforest, music or a particular artist , developement in technology, developement in ..... whatever has your interest most is the topic you can write about the best... Hope you find your best topic and get good grades.

I think that would be a good essay.

well, what do you like to do (hobbies)? Also, is there a certain type of art you like, or do you have a hero you look up to? Pick a person or some kind of sport or art. I hope that helps. God bless.
