I believe it was a Winchester Model 1897 Pump Shotgun!!

Probably a Remington 870 or a Winchester 12. Both have been around a very long time and you will be challenged to distinguish the two from seeing only the barrel.

i cannot find any production stills to look at it
if you could email me a pic of the weapon i could tell you what it is sorry i couldnt be more help. If i had to guess i would go model 12 Winchester
