I have a movie on my computer but it won't play. I just get sound no video. What do i need my friend said something about xvid or divx. Help please.

Sounds like you need DivX, a very popular codec:

If you still need more codecs (there are several different versions of MPEG4/DivX/XviD), the Nimo Codec pack comes with pretty much everything needed:

Even better to go to www.download.com, and download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. It has all types of codecs you can possibly imagine, and you will never have to worry about downloading codecs/various media players ever. Just install the pack and watch the videos in whatever your favourite media player is.

Downloading codec's is a waste.
Go to videolan.org and download VLC Media Player. It has probably every known codec in the universe built in.. as it will play 99% of video files.
