I have talked to him about the germs that are in his nose. I have told him that other kids might laugh at him and might not want to be friends with someone who did gross things. I have thought about punishing him, but it just doesn't seem right. Has anyone helped a child break this habit?

LOL My son had an actual booger wall. One day I walked over to the wall and I saw this stuff on the wall, I asked him what it was and he would not answer me. I actually touched it [cringe] before figuring out what it was. I said "OMG IS THIS SNOT??" And he said yes, like it was perfectly normal to have a booger wall!

I think you just need to talk to him and keep reminding him its wrong. My son hasn't done that since but I DO keep checking! It's gross. Sometimes kids don't realize how nasty some of their habits are!

Everytime you catch him tell him to go wash his hand that picking his nose is not appropriate. Kids dont like to wash their hands (well most of them usually)
It just a habit like biting your nails...but still sure is a gross one.
Keep reminding him about the germs stuff and how he could possibly get sick.

For now don't worry about it to much. Alot of young kids do this. If he doesn't grow out of it in a year or 2 just give him a wack and tell him to stop doing discusting things

So.......he is NORMAL. He is a boy - they do that and LOTS more disgusting things (to come -- you'll find out soon enough!). haha Every time you see him pick - remind him to use a tissue ---- 'maybe' he will learn to use it in front of you, but you cannot be sure he will not pick it alone.

PS -- other kids DON'T CARE!! They are probably doing the same thing.

I don't think you should be too concerned. Although it is a nasty habbit, many children at his age do it! Most children grow out of the habit. I don't think you should punish your son. I hope i helped :)

i does no longer be doing that in the time of church, however the element is that a newborn should not be chatting with any grownup like that. i could hit upon the mothers and dads or parent and tell them as surprising as available that they could coach their newborn some manners and additionally to appreciate adults.

It is very normal and he will most likely grow out of it. Although, I do know adults that still do this and most everyone doesn't even notice that they do it. As long as he doesn't eat it, I wouldn't worry about it.
