Can someone explain to me the concept that women seem to have that "True love waits"? I do not understand that. I mean, what is true love waiting on? Does that mean that these women refuse to date anyone because the person that they would be dating can't be "the one" because they are not waiting like "true" love should? How can you find out if you are truly compatible with a person as more than just friends if you do not date them? I've heard so many women turn me down because we can't be more than "just friends".... why? Is this part of the "true love waits" idea? It seems to me that women are just waiting for "true love" to fall into their lap one morning instead of seeking it out. What better way to find true love than to date your best friend? I mean, am I the only one that watches Friends? Can someone explain this idea to me?

It doesn't have anything to do with me. I learned to accept the fact long ago that there is no girl out there that finds me attractive. I just want to know what this concept of "True love waits" is supposed to mean.

Many people mistake the euphoria that comes from the initial physical/chemical attraction, lust and our preconceived romantic notions for love. That euphoric feeling usally lasts at best a couple of years. Then reality sets in. Many things can happen during that period that permanently alters a persons vision of the future that both partners have to react to whether they stay together or not.

"True love" survives long enough for a couple to start making the hard practical choices that come with choosing to commit to one other.

However, if women are politely banishing you to the "friend zone" it simply means they are not attracted to you.

Perhaps your friends are not attracted to you. Generally speaking a woman knows in the first instant if she is attracted to you as a friend or a boyfriend. Not that hard to figure out.
