If you are talking about a child , be patient and consistant. Dont lose your cool, and be nice even if accidents occur. Because they will!

yes i feel the same way!! potty training........more like letting the child decide if they want to try and use the potty or just pee in their underwear!!! my son is soooooo close to wanting to use the potty all the time on some days then others he is like forget it mom too much work.
