Frizz Ease products by John Frieda work wonders. They have a serum that works great on frizzy hair. These products can be found at Wal Mart or any beauty supply store.

What you need is good conditioner for dry- or curly hair (Biolage is good, a good inexpensive one is Pantene). Make sure you get haircuts every 5-6 weeks. Cut into your layers and trim the ends. That will keep it as healthy as possible. Use a generous amount of curl gel or mousse after you wash it. A good one is Loreal curl gel and the curl mousse is great too. Try not to blow dry the hair, if you do, just on low or use a diffuser.

Hello!

My hair is very similar to yours. It's curly but can get frizzy and dry. I've been able to control my hair very well. I assume that you're naturally curly and haven't put a chemical straightener on your hair. Ok, here's what I do:

First, because you are a woman of color--like myself, don't shampoo your hair everyday. Washing your hair constantly overtime will strip your hair of moisture. The more product you keep in your hair (like oil, hair grease, oil sheen, etc.), the healthier, moister, and more manageable your hair will be. Hair tangles alot more if it's too dry as well and that causes breakage. Try to shampoo your hair every weekend. A good shampoo and conditioner would be Pantene Pro V for women of Color (in a brown bottle). When you condition your hair, mix at least 2 -3 different kinds of conditioners (like Pantene and Garnier Fructise, Sunsilk, Suave Coconut or some other good smelling conditioner - don't worry about spending a lot of money on the secondary conditioner). Keep the conditioner on your hair for about 45 - 60 minutes. After you rinse it, your hair will be really, really soft. If it isn't as soft as you'd like it to be, you can put another set of conditioner on there and leave it as long as you like it (i've had it on my hair overnight), but make sure you rinse all of it out of your hair because it can lead to dryness and flaking. Or you can use hot oil treatments on it. Any hot oil will do, but please don't use Nubian Silk (comes in a yellow and brown bottle) on your hair as a hot oil--it will make your hair gummy. After the deep conditioning, use a good leave-in conditioner and a detangler (Just for me or another kid's detangler). The leave-in conditioner I suggest is Dark and Lovely-leave in conditioner. At this time, let your hair air dry. I know that it's going to take a while because I see that you have pretty, long, curly hair. I don't know how you feel about hair grease or some type of oil sheen or hair oil, but I would recommend you use it. That way, your hair won't lose its moisture while it's drying.

Now for styling, I don't know how you usually wear your hair, but I think if you want to go curly, use an Olive Oil Mousse for your hair. It doesn't have all that alcohol that dries your hair out.

For straightening, I suggest you flat iron your hair when it's completely dry. For a good flat iron, I recommend that you use a Chi. It's pretty expensive and most places, you have to have a cosmetology license, but you can get around that by purchasing it on Amazon.com. Use Chi products as well. Before you do, use Procclaim hair polish with heat protection so you won't scorch your hair. I would then body wrap the hair (after flat-ironing) by using big "foam" rollers to roll your hair. Then take the rollers out after about 30 minutes, then put your hair in a wrapped style. Wear a do-rag to cover it after it's finished and going to bed. The next morning/day, you'll have a beautiful wrap! It will last the entire week and then some!

Hope this helps honey!!

Biosilk. I'm obsessed! It's like an oil and I just use it after I blowdry my hair. It does wonders! Its in a small clear bottle, most hair places have it and I've even seen it at Publix supermarkets and walmart in with the paul mitchell and redkin products.

try some shampoo brand that u like that's moisturizing, and dont forget the conditioner and leave in cream afterwards. i know this mask and it's gonna sound a little gross but it helps with dry hair. put mayo on it and leave on for like 20 minutes, wash it off and there u get moisturized, soft hair :)

The absolute best is a product called SILK DROPS from FX Special Effects. You can get it at any Walgreens, CVS, etc. You'll love it!

when washing your hair, do not rinse out all the conditioner. leaving a bit in your hair will keep your curls intact. use your fingers to style your hair and DO NOT blow dry your hair - besides making it extra frizzy, it causes a lot of damage.
