first of don't over do it the first couple of days. you will tire yourself out and won't want to continue. knowing why you are doing it is and always thinking about it. my reason is my upcoming wedding and my health. i know that loosing some of the extra weight is better my body and i won't be as tired. also try different work outs. you might be getting bored if you keep doing the same routine. if you can work out with someone else, that way you will hold each other accountable for working out.

good luck.

I used to buy dresses that were tight on me, and hang them up in my room as a constant reminder that I needed to lose a few pounds. That helped me a lot.

Unfortunetly, the best you can do is just force yourself to keep at it. Maybe you could work out with friends? Or find a different excercise that you actually enjoy? Or just mix it up everyday. One day to the treadmill, and the next day play tennis with some friends or something. Whatever you think you might enjoy.

Making excercise fun is what will keep you motivate you. What about joining a gym that has cardio classes? Like cardio dancing? It sounds cheesy, but I've known a lot of people who have said they're really fun and they help you burn a lot of calories.

STOP measuring yourself. Stop, stop, stop. That is the WORST thing you can do as far as fitness and trying to lose weight. Measuring yourself every other day makes you focus on small and smaller measurements of improvement and each time you don't see any change, you'll get disappointed and feel, what's the use? I've been working out for about three years straight now and have weighted myself maybe three times. I refuse to look at a scale because it's not about that. You will know when you lose weight because your clothes will fit differently, etc. But stop weighing yourself because you'll only be disappointed when you find you only lost two pounds one week and maybe even gained a pound the next. There are a lot of factors that go in to losing weight: if you drink a lot of water, what you ate the night before, etc.

I recommend working out only three days a week, MWF, with a day in between for your body to recuperate. You can do a little light working out on the weekend. By staggering your workouts, you can give yourself a rest and build some anticipation for the next work out. and I also recommend working on on different parts of the body on different days. Work on arms one day, chest and back the next time, then legs the third day. If you do the same exercises in the same order everytime you go, you'll get bored really quickly. By focusing on specific parts you can target them and see more improvements fast. But include aerobic exercise in each session (treadmill, eliptical, etc. for at least 20 minutes before or after weight training). and check your diet. But lay off the scale. You'll only be disappinted.

Statistically speaking, the best way to keep motivated is to have someone to answer to. Find a friend that will work out with you, or prepay a trainer (losing the money needs to hurt more than the exercise :) ). The other thing you can do is to find something to do that you don't dread. YOu might go through 20 different activities to find it, but you'll be moving the whole time! You might even find a passion.

Keep working out & once you start getting lots of compliments, that will keep you motivated to keep losing. Also, keep telling yourself that you can do it & you will. Make it fun & don't look at it as a chore. Look at your before & after photos, as you go along & that will keep you motivated for sure. Good luck!!!!

look at a picture of someone with a nice body, like a celebrity, and think to yourself that you want to be like that one day.
