After we leave this life we will go one of two places while we wait for the resurrection. These two places are spirit paradise and spirit prison.

Those in paradise are those who have been baptized and followed Jesus Christ's example. Those in prison will be those who either did not have the opportunity to hear about Jesus Christ's gospel or who did not Follow Jesus' example.

Those in paradise will be the teachers of those in prison, teaching them about Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

We will wait there until the resurrection. At which point, our body will be reunited with our spirit.
