What if you don't have a printer, would that be a problem? Is there any of charges besides the cost of the software?
And, is it better then going to the a real tax person?

If you do decide to use turbotax you can e-file which costs money, otherwise you can generate a PDF file that you can put on a flashdrive or CD and print on another PC elsewhere (turbotax is free if someone loans you their copy and you don't pay for printing). if you are making<$30K avoid paying anything for tax prep.

Unless you spend a lot of money on an accountant a "real tax person" can be better or worse than turbotax.

If you file through irs.gov, your income has to be less than $52K. Otherwise it is not free to file with irs.gov if you do not meet the requiremnts. I've used TurboTax for the last three years. How you file reallly depends on the complexity of your tax information.

TurboTax works by asking you step-by-step information in a very thorough manner so as not to miss any information you should/could report. You fill in information that you have and/or some information can be electronically retrieved from various sources relating to you (optional). It is really very easy and mistake proof if you double check for your typos, etc. They will let you know what is common and alert you if you type in something out of the ordinary. You will then have the option to e-file or you could print it out (save to file or send to someone who could print it out), sign it and mail it in.
Currently, you can download the Basic edition for free from turbotax.com.

You know you don't even have to use turbo tax? You can just go to www.irs.gov and do what's called an "e-file". It is free, and they guarantee it because it's the governments website. You can even get direst deposit and get your return in like 2 weeks.
