I was discussing this with someone the other day. We didn't cite specific quotes, but rather general themes. That is, God didn't just come into the world full-grown, and go straight to work. First, there was the 9-month wait in Mary's womb. Then, the 18-year wait for the child to grow up. Even then there was another 22-year wait until the time was ripe, before he started his work. And further, he didn't go right to the main point, the cross, but put in another three year's patience first. Finally, there was the excruciating 3-days between the passion and the resurrection. What we learned from this is that you can't rush the process. Even God himself didn't rush it. You can't have a baby in two days; it takes 9 months. When I want to rush it, I remember Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He knew what was coming, and he must have wished it would just happen fast, get the dying over with. But it didn't happen fast, and he shows me how to stand the waiting.

Lead me in Your truth and teach me,For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. Psalm 25:5

Wait for the LORD;Be strong and let your heart take courage;Yes, wait for the LORD. Psalm 27:18

Our soul waits for the LORD;He is our help and our shield.
Psalm 33:20

Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles,They will run and not get tired,They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31

I hope these verses help... A good book of the bible to read during trying times is Psalms... and Proverbs.

I will be praying for the person with the wait....

I think of examples, Abraham, his wait for Isaac, his waiting for the Kingdom of God, viewing it as a city far off.
The Nation of Israel when Eli and his 2 sons were priest, 40 years the nation waited for God to address the issue.
Jesus, his long wait after his Resurrection heaven, before he was able to cleanse the Heavens, take his Position as King and Priest, and his patience in waiting this 73 years before he is told when he can cleanse the earth.

You can find the answer in your spirit.

There are things, such as death that we can't do anything but wait for. Stay occupied with thoughts of preparation. Staying active tends to move the world, time and life.

There's no sense in anticipating the worse since there's nothing to do about it. There are two grantees in life; you will die and you will get through it.
