Whenever I hang out with this girl I like and her friends, they always smoke in my car!, I said it was ok at first but now its really messing me up even with the windows open. Whenever I drop them off when they have to leave I always come home with my heart racing and I lose my appetite for some reason. What should I say to them? I just can't handle the smoking anymore. Its not so much the smell or anything its more of what it does to my health. I don't see her that much so usually the next day I feel better, but at first I said it was ok for them to smoke, but now I'm thinking I might tell them that I can't be in the car when you smoke, and then if they do decide to smoke should I just pullover to the side or stop at like a gas station and pretend I have to get something just so that I can get out of the car? what made it worse today was the fact that I have a really bad cold!. I still like hanging out with them bcuz they are fun to hang out with I just don't like it when they smoke.

Lets see cancer, asthma, not to mention the hundreds of toxinsin the smoke, oh how about taking them on a tour of the local cancer ward of the hospital, plus smoking is gross especially for a girl, and then again just tell her no smoking in the car,

Just tell them before you get in the car that you would rather they didn't smoke in the car, that you have found that you have allergies to it. If they fuss about it, they can walk home!
You are getting second hand smoke. When you smoke, that is what happens is your heart races and you don't eat as much (probably why I was at my lightest weight ever was when I smoked).

You gave them permission to smoke in your car. You can tell them that you changed your mind & don't want them to anymore. The smoking isn't affecting your health as bad as your making it seem. Your doing it yourself by getting all worked up over it. Just deal with it & don't act like the smoking is what causing you to feel bad because it isn't. Just tell them no more smoking in your car.

I told some friends that it was okay to smoke in my house...while after a few nights of hanging out with them I realized just how smelly things were getting. I felt bad about originally telling them it was okay, but I told them how sorry I was and could they please smoke outside instead. Guess what, they were cool about it and every time they came over they just stepped out and smoked. Just talk to them, if they can't respect you and your feelings, then they aren't very good friends.

Originally when you said it was ok for them to smoke in your car, you didn't know how that would affect you health wise, did you? So, I think you can tell them that it is causing you health problems, so please could they not smoke around you any more. If they're true friends, they will respect that and not smoke in your car. If they don't, then you know where you stand, and they are not worth being friends with.

In a nice way tell them that their smoking is making you sick. Second hand smoke is not good at all either. If they are your true friends they will stop smoking in your car.

Just tell them that you didn't realize how the smoke affects you & now that you know that you would rather them not smoke in your car.
If they are cool they will not have a problem with it.

Be straight up but in a humourous way. I thought i could handle that second hand ,yo but I guess I'm gettin. old, seriously I can't hang, be gettin me lightheaded for days, Yall mind waitin to light up. Oooh or tell them you might have a gas leak! that will work!!! lol

My boyfriend smokes and I don't, and he usually does it in his car, and even with the windows down, it kills my lungs and I feel like I have to hold my breath when he exhales. I understand. Let them know that it's your car, your health (you chose not to smoke, and that means second-hand as well) and that you don't want them to do it anymore. They'll prolly understand.
