I thought that English was the official language of the United States. It is what is taught in school and it would be really difficult to just decide at this point in time to make it something else. What I think is second languages should be taught at an earlier age not just in high school, like they do in Europe. But also we must not forget that The United States was built from immigrants leaving their homelands in search for a better life.

No. There are many American countries where Spanish is the national language and in Brazil the language is Portuguese. Why should those American countries be obliged to switch to English? English is, after all, only spoken in those American countries which used to be British colonies.
Bush is only authorised to speak on behalf of the USA, not the Americas as a whole.

yeah, I'd love as many langauges on everything. We're made up of so many different cultures and languages, It'd be a shame to make it one language. All English or Spanish & English.

Of course it should be English. Dubya probably wasn't paying attention when he answered. It's hard to concentrate when you're constantly reminding yourself to CHEW before you swallow.

Absolutly...NOT!!!! We cannot make the official language of the US as English. If we did, that would be horrible for other cultures, and we need diversity.
