You should go because graduation, Grad Nite and the Prom are things that all don't seem like that big of a deal until you are older and want to remember those special moments, plus think about it when everyone else is talking about how the Prom was,the people they brought, who they danced with, etc. you want be able to conversate on that topic(and this matters 20,30 yrs fromnow)My advice is just go to the Graduation because it will be talked about also.

Go- for your family. Graduation really isn't about you (as strange as that sounds). It is your families chance to gloat about you. It is hard raising children, and to see them graduate is a big notch on a parents belt. It says, I have done something right. The ceremony brings it all to light.
Don the cap and gown, and do it for your parents. It is a couple of hours out of your life, but it signifies and validates theirs.

I'm having the same problem. My school has two graduations, one formal and one informal. I will be attending the informal one but I'm not sure about the formal one. I think my parents would be disappointed if I didn't go to the big shindig though....and since they watched my kids while I finished my BA I guess I'll go....oh the guilt I will feel if I don't.

I didn't go and I didn't miss a thing. While everyone was at graduation I was on a beach getting a tan. It was wonderful.
You have to live your life for yourself. If you don't want to go, then don't. If you want to go, then go. It is your choice.

You should suck it up and just go. Because one of these days you're gonna look back and say "Dam*n, I wish I had gone, but it's too late to change it now."
It was a long old road getting to graduation. A lot of family members deserve to watch you walk across that stage and get your diploma.

you will get a sense of accomplishment , it will not only be on a piece of paper but in your face . I think you should go , it is a bench mark in your life . Something you can look back on and smile.
Congrats!

Its one of those once in a lifetime things, so you should probably go. You'll most likely end up having a good time.

Depends on how much you don't want to go. Will your pain be worse than the others? I say do what you want, which is to not go. Unless your mom is going to bawl her eyes out. Just weight it out.
