Dogs that don't eat ? Usually means they are sick or someone spolied them by feeding them human food.

having your dog on a constant stable diet is very important. No not like a weight loss diet just same type of food and you can mix it up with different brands to keep your dog happy. I use to work for an animal clinc and if the dog got too picky we would leave a bowl of food down and not feed them anything until they ate what was in bowl. Dogs have picky personalities like us so let them basically starve until they eat their food. This is also showing them that they can't always have their way. I have to do this with my mom's small dog, just leave a bowl down and tell her she's not getting anything else until she eats and she might go a day before she eats it but gives in and eats it all.
this happens every few months and knows she won't win but still likes to try.

Try a different food, but if your dog is a picky eater beware!
If your dog normally eats the food it fine, regulate between dry and wet food. If still nothing - leave the food in the bowl and the dog will eat when its hungry otherwise the dog could be sick.

If your dog does not want to eat anything then go to the vet. If your dog does not like the food you have offered then you can try another appropriate food. But the tell tale sign of sickness in dogs is poor appetite. Do not overlook this k?

W. has the answer. Dogs will not starve themselves what ever the reason they are not eating. I only recommend leaving the bowl for 10 minutes before picking it up. Feed the dog NOTHING until the next meal time. If you keep changing it's food and giving it treats and such you will have a finicky dog that will end up only eating out of your hand.

Dogs usually do not eat for a few different reasons:
1. New home give it time to settle.
2. Its sick and needs a vet
3. Has never had dry food try adding canned putting less in each time till dog eats dry by itself.

There could be something stuck in the digestive track or something. Is he pooping? If it's been a long time, take him to the vet. If it's just once in a while, I wouldn't worry too much about it (although I have a lab, and he's only not eaten once, because he snuck into the dog food and ate 10 lbs of it!). Good luck, but get it checked out, you don't want to regret not getting a vet's advice.

If your dog is healthy it will not starve itself. Give your dog 20 minutes to eat. If it doesn't finish its food after 20 minutes take the food up and do not offer it or any treats again until the next scheduled meal. Your dog may miss a meal or two,but will soon learn to eat what is offered when it is offered.

Take it to the Vet. dog could be ill or have an impaction. Not
eating indicates something is very wrong.

how long has it been since your dog has not eaten? If it has been several days I would take him to the vet and have him checked out, He could be sick.
