I just rescued a little Shih tsu from Paws'; She had been severley neglected and all her hair had to be shaved off. Does anyone know about how long it will take to grow back. The poor thing looks like a rat and has to wear a little coat to stay warm.

I have 2 Shih Tzu dogs. I usually shave my dog every year and it takes about a month and a half to get about a one inch coat on him.

If she's healthy, her coat will be a ball of fluff within a couple of months. As it starts to grow back, it would be good if you'd brush her with a pin brush weekly, both to get her used to being brushed and keep her mat-free so she doesn't need to be shaved again!

Good for you!!!!! Lucky dog! It will take a couple of months for her to look absolutely adorable and about 6 for her to have a full coat. I love shih tzus....they are lovely!

it should be a few weeks between 3 and 7
