Yes, filthy communication is a sin. You sinned when you recorded the cd, but it is not a sin everytime somebody plays it... unless you sing along with yourself and cuss again!

Well first of all - I'm not religious - just a Christian trying to make it like everyone else. Yes cussing is a sin - you should not do it. Cursings should not come out of your mouth - just blessings. As for the CD thing, you are putting something into your heart that you should not - it can be harmful. Why listen to music like that? There is so much more. Be careful what you listen to - you will become that person - so I believe listening to that kind of music is sinful - yes I do. Broaden your horizons and seek out more desirable music - one that feeds your soul and spirit - there is also rap music that does this - it is so fulfulling. Blessings to you dear one and this is such a good question. God bless you.

I don't think that all cussing is a sin. If you just burst out and say "sh**" it's not because it's not directed at a person, but if you say
"f*** you" it is because you are conveying hate at a person. but the Bible never prohibits this. I dont think that listening to a CD with cussing on it is a sin because that would be like you being sent to jail for witnessing a murder.

Everything you think and say is on record always- whether it's available to the public or not.
Garden variety cussing is not a sin. Taking the Lord's name in vain is.
Improper use of His name really torques Him.
Names that hurt people, hurt Him.
Each and every time His name is spoken; you have His attention. So, if you're playing a recording purposely and it is offensive- you are held as responsible as the actual voice- as it is your choice to play, broadcast and receive the message.
Thanks for asking. Be blessed. Love you.

well, I cuss sometimes and don't think it's a sin. I don't use the Lord's name in vain tho. The prohibition against swearing refers to making an oath. However, if it is not of faith it is sin, so if it's against your conscience don't cuss on it or play it. It's really between you and God.

if you have a CD out that has a bunch of cussing, you obviously don't care what God thinks about it, so it's a moot point. God judges the heart. He doesn't weigh your sins against your good deeds.

Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
You only have to Ask forgiveness for the "original sin" of language.

One act = One sin - just because someone recorded it, doesn't multiply the sin when it is played back.

Don't worry about cursing being a sin unless you offend someone, either by cursing at them or cursing outloud to the point of bothering them.
