The word religion comes from the greek religos which means "to come from"..

Where did humans come from? The Earth? Or Devine creationalism? Which is more likely?

Should people who believe in evolution actually be worshiping the Earth?

The Native American tribes of North America all had a certain reverence for the Earth. It gave them life, food, clothes,.. Just as it does us.. But we have confused this with organized religion that is usually forced on children, the poor, etc..

Shouldn't we all care a little more about the Earth? Isn't it where we came from? Where we will return to? Where we get our food, clothes, shelter? Don't we depend on it for everything? Isn't it hubric to disease it the way we have?

Actually Zero, it makes perfect sense..

Every molecule of your body comes from the Earth..

Maybe you should show it some respect..

As a pagan, I say absolutely. And, I believe as many others do, that the earth is our Mother.
I also believe, as a mother, that we take a certain amount of abuse from our children out of their ignorance.. but, mothers all realize that if we do not take care of ourselves, we cannot take care of our children, and she will do what she has to do to survive. If that means a huge shift in the climate to right herself, that's what'll have to happen.. if none of us survives, then other creatures who are also her children will.

I've said before here - the Sun gives us life and sustains all living things. Without the Sun - we are nothing. The end of the world as we know it? When the sun goes dwarf. We will have died long before this happens though. And then in time the dwarf will be the nebula and this is a rebirth of living things - maybe in exactly the same set of circumstances....creating all of us yet again....yes, you are right in stating that we should care a little more about our nature....God created or not.

Should people who believe in evolution actually be worshiping the Earth?

As that doesn't make a bit of sense, NO.

"Religion" actually comes from "religio" meaning "to tie" or "to bind"

And yes, we should care more about the Earth, if not for religious reasons, then for the simple fact of "this is where we live, why are we trashing it?!"
