Water is obviously needed by the body and lemon contains a lot of vitamin C, but then so do loads of other foods. And No it does not contribute towards fat!

It doesn't contain any fat, and there is negligible sugar in a lemon, so it definitely won't add to belly flab. Lemon with water is good for you because lemons contain several antioxidants (which help your body protect itself) and they contain vitamin C, which helps your skin, teeth, nails, immune system, and so on. Vitamin C also increases the amount of other nutrients you absorb, such as iron and calcium. Some people also say that lemon helps with cleansing, so that's why its good for you.
Lastly,we are told to get 6 to 10 glasses of water a day, but some people will not drink water without a flavouring in it, and lemon is one of the best because it is virtually calorie and sugar free. If you get bored with lemon, try some lime juice.

Water and lemon is good to help rid the body of toxins,
lemon flavours the water, the lemon also has vitamin C,
it contains no fat and very minimal natural fruit sugars will not add to you belly flab.

In fact drinking this before food and any time you are hungry might just help get rid of the belly flab.

Lemon does absolutely nothing to water. The "traces" of whatever have nothing to do with it. Years ago high scale restaurants began this practice to "jazz" up water goblets and the way the water was presented to the patron.

The lemon adds very little to the taste of water. This was for "looks" only.

I read the answers above mine. Lemon can actually harm the enamel on teeth. Do you know how MANY lemons you would have to consume to aid your digestion? Even if this were true, which it isn't. Oh, Woe is me.

Er? Who says its good for you? OK, Its certainly not bad for you. The lemon contains vitamin C, not much if its diluted a lot, and very little sugar. A whole lemon is only about 10 calories and of course no fat, being a citrus fruit.

Actually water with lemon is better. Water for obvious reasons and lemon because it adds a trace of vitamin C. The fructose (what you're calling sugar) in lemons is insignificant and you will use it up just by living.

It simply adds taste to plain water, there is a slight boost of vitiman C, but other than that it's for flavor purposes more than anything.
