He kicks them around all day and will evern fetch them when thrown.

It's a cat thing. Cats are attracted to anything that makes crinkly sounds-like plastic bags, and they like things that they can push around-like bottle caps, balls, even cigarette butts. You should see some of the things that my 2 cats push around. Most of the time, they push things that don't roll easily. Like legos, or lunchable boxes.
It's a hunting instinct, to push things around, to see if it's still alive, and if it moves, then they chew it some more, push it chew it, push it, chew it until it's dead. Unless the cat got to something like a pill bottle, a baby rattle, or just won't give up on that plastic garbage bag, just get out the video recorder and have some laughs.

Probaby for the same reason my cats like aluminum foil, zip ties and feathers. My cats will also fetch sticks and liketo play in the toilet. sometimes I wish I could be that easily entertained.

My cat loves them too!!! Bottle caps, Milk caps...last night a Dum Dum sucker!!! Aren't cats the Coolest pet ever!!!

Cause they are cool, a toy to your cat and fun. The cat gets you involved so life is great.... and bottle caps are cheap so enjoy! Oh, it could be that play and hunting insticts but enjoy.

cats are just weird. i went & bought mine $10 worth of cat toys, when i got home all he wanted to play with was my nail file.

It moves and they are into things that move around on them. They love to play! Oddly, I still do not know why my cat was addicted to olives?
