its been a week and it hasnt gotten better and yes i have gone to the doctor but i want to know if i can get more information on here too

Just keep taking your medication and it will eventually go away. Eat and drink cool soft stuff too, not hard or crunchy stuff.
I had strep throat/tonsillitis every single year since I was like 10. Finally at the age of 19 I was hospitalized for 3 days because I almost stopped breathing my throat had swollen up so bad. After the infection was cleared up they removed my tonsils and I haven't had problems with them since! It was one of the best things I have ever had done!
Keep taking your medication and stay on top of it. You don't want it to get any worse. You might even have to have them removed. Good luck!

The doctor should have put you on an antibiotic. If you are on medication and not seeing some improvement after 2 or 3 days, you need to get in touch with the Dr.

You might need to get your tonsils out.
