Blood is alway's a very bad sign, whether it's coming from bowel movements, urine, or throwing up. You need to immediately, take your dog to the veterinarian, and should not put it off. Only a veterinarian can diagnose, what the problem is and treat it. If your vets office is closed, then take your dog to an Emergency Animal Hospital. Good Luck! Hope your dog is better soon!

VET NOW!!!! I assume by pooping blood you mean red fresh blood. Is it coming out like diarriah or is it mixed into the stool? Has someone maybe stepped on him/her on accident? That can cause internal bleeding. Or there can be damage to the colon or a rupture to the intestine. If it is coffee ground dark clotted blood then it is up in the stomach which could be a ulcer or worse. Coffee grounds are usually a worse sign. Is the dog vomiting blood also that could indicate even worse internal bleeding. Please bring the dog in like NOW.

Sounds like parvo and this is a very deadly condition go to the vet if you have waited too long there will be nothing they can do for her.

Parvovirus is a severe gastrointestinal disease. It initially causes weakness, depression, and lethargy. After a few days to weeks, it causes vomiting and lack of appetite. The dogs develop a very high fever. Very severe diarrhea ensues, gray in color, often with blood and tissue. Because of the vomiting and diarrhea, the dogs become very weak and dehydrated. Puppies and dogs less than two years old, may also suffer from heart disease caused by the virus, causing sudden death

Blood in the stool could mean any number of things--from parvo to injury to a sensitive stomach and she ate something that she couldn't tolerate. (1 of my dogs has that) Either way, it doesn't matter what you read in anyones answers because even if we were all vets, your dog is there and we aren't. Get your dog to the vet NOW---don't bother with an appt-the vet will see you because this is an EMERGENCY. Hurry, and I hope it's not too late to reverse whatever damage could be going on.

A bacterial overgrowth, GI upset who knows? There could be parasites of foriegn body injestion. The best thing to do is take a sample into the Vet for examination and they will look for all the little critters that are not supposed to be there. Then probably medicate and send you home on a bland diet of boiled rice with hamburger or chicken (boiled also). This feeding is not a cure, but it is soft on the gut.

You need to take her to the vet and have her examined. If she is pooping out blood, this could be a sign of worms or an infection.

she could have an irritated gut, could be parvo, could have ate something sharp. you NEED TO GO TO YOUR VET!!! they should do a barium series, to check the GI track and make sure there's no blockage. they will also most likely want a stool/poop sample to rule out illnesses. GO TO YOUR VET IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG.
