Remove the tick and get some preventative so you don't have to remove any others later.

First off don't pull off the tick, if you do chances are the head will stay lodged in underneath your dogs skin. Take a straight pin or needle and heat it up with a match or lighter and press this against the tic. This will cause the tic to dislodge from your dog and die. If you find many tics then I would recommend a flea and tic bath. You shouldn't have any real medical concerns unless your dog shows signs of being ill. Then a visit to your vet would be recommended, but i'm sure your little guy will be just fine.

First you will need to remove the tic, use tweezers to do so, and make sure you get the head of the tic out of the dog. If you pull the tic out and leave the head, it will cause a serious infection. Also, after you have removed the tic, clean the infected area with alcohol to remove all the germs and bacteria from the dog that the tic could have. If you remove the tic and its head is still in the dog, you need to try and dig it out. If you can't get it out, take the dog to the vet to get it taken out.

If the tick was on the dog and big already then its been there for at least a day. Get some tweezerss and get right down next to your dogs skin. Squeeze the tweezer tight around the head of the tick and pull it out in a straight motion. Flush the tick down the toilet! Get some antibiotic cream and rub it into the area that the tick was.
Get some flea and tick preventive and use it.

Get a cotton ball and soak it with alcohol. Place that ontop of the tick for a few minutes. Take a pair of tweezers and get as close to the head as possible then extract the tick.

Then flush that nasty sucker! Now take the cotton ball and rub the tick bite back down to disinfect it.

You may want to invest in frontline or advantix. It's a preventative

Good Luck

take a pair of tweezers near the head of the tick and kill it. Then take it out. I've removed plenty oh tics, it's a little gross but it doens't bother the dogs.

properly, i wish that you probably did not merely pull it off, as in case you probably did, you likely pulled off the body yet no longer the suited in which case the suited is now imbedded contained in the body and receives contaminated. undesirable. in case you probably did do this you'll want to take the canines to the vet day after today and characteristic it decrease out and dealt with. it received't chew you as it truly is no longer the function of the tic,. What it does is to burrow into the flesh and start up sucking blood which in turn makes it swell up many situations its favourite length. sure purchase all potential decrease the grass and also get a flea and tick collar and installation it on the canines immediatialy if no longer faster.

If your puppy is on heart meds/flea and tick meds just dispose of the tick..and give your dog a real good bath just to make sure there aren't anymore. If your dog has not had his/her meds as should have you need to take him/her to his/her vet and have him checked out.

Rub some Vasaline on and take a pair of tweezers and slide the tick out. If the head pops off seek a vet to get the head out of there.

You could also use a comb to slide it out.
