This is the plain truth.

Gold plated connectors have been proved to be better conductors of electricity, therefore, less energy is being lost elsewhere and more sound, video whatever, is being passed through the connector.

BUT, if you are using these connectors in your home, to be honest, the gold plated connectors will make no noticeable difference.

Mainly, they are used for professional uses, ie. full scale concerts, full screen video displays at concert halls and the like.

I have both gold plated and normal connectors in my home, and nobody but nobody could tell the difference.

if you have the money and feel that your ears are worth the expense then go ahead.
dont forget that not that long ago all the very high end equipment out there did not have gold-plated connectors

so its a subjective thing

Yes and no. You will get better connectivity, but whether or not that justifies paying out £30 for scart cables... up to you really.

dont know really but my gold cables dont seem to make any difference to the old ones

Gold is an excellent conductor of electricty. Er- that's all I know about it.

yes if they are 24 carat ones it makes a difference it is the best conductor and it stops interference.
