i recently just dropped out of highschool and im about to register to take the ged, i know for a fact that its hard to get in with just a ged but with 15 college credits it equals to a highschool diploma, i was wondering if this is still true or did they change it to absolutely no ged allowed?

Each military service only allows a very small number of people with GEDs to join. If all you have is a GED then you will need something exceptional to offset it. (Like a very high ASVAB score.)

The Army is most lenient towards people with GEDs by allowing 5% of enlistees to have one.

One of the major reasons the military does not want GEDs is because somebody with only a GED is twice as likely to flunk out of basic training that a high school graduate.

And one semester of college is 12 units. So you would need about a year of college to make up for the fact that you did not graduate high school.

If you get your GED you can guarenteed get in if you score atleast a 50 on your ASVAB

If you dont have your GED, and score really high you can still get in, but it is limited to a certain amount.

Although the Marine Corps is fair, it only takes the brightest and bests, the way it has always been.

So get your damn GED, and enlist already. Theres a ton of fun out here in Iraq waiting for you! (seriously i love being out here)

You can get into the marines with just a GED but you have to score high generally. Although there is some clause somewhere that people without any GED can get in. I think it is like one per state a year. My best friends hubbie is actually gott in like this but they did make him take night classed to get his GED and he graduates tommorow!

Everything will be based on your ASVAB score. If you score high they will want you with a GED if you score low they will want a HS diploma. It seems like discrimination but the ASVAB demonstrates your ability for the Armed Forces and the AFQT is your Armed Forces Quotient Test Which is like your IQ Test.

You need to go to a recruiter and ask one of them. Go to their website and find one near you.
