My friends from my hometown are paying me a visit today and staying for two days. I have a roommate, and I'm concerned that they are not going to respect my wishes of them being quiet tonight because my roommate has to get up early on Friday for work, how can I poliety stress this to them? (After drinking a little they get real loud.)

Just tell them this: "My roommate has to get up early on Friday and head to work. Now, you are guests in our home and I would appreciate it if you keep your voices down while my roommate is asleep." If they are still loud after you explain the situation to them, they have begun to crosssed the line from being welcomed guests to disrespectful pests, and you have the right to tell them to leave. But if they are your friends, im sure they'll understand and respect your roommate's wishes.

Tell them that if they can't respect your wishes they can go shell out a hundred dollars for a hotel room or go sleep in the alley. Just because they are friends from your hometown doesn't give them the right to do as they please.

well, inform them if they are staying with you that they have to be silent because of your friend......
If they refuse or make a scene tell them to go stay at a hotel for the two days..... You have to respect your roommate and what he/she has to do the next day..............

you will either loose a roomamte. have mad friends for awhile// or they will surprise you and be quiet......
