lol I don't know any jews who believe that Jesus was a prophet. Most of them don't believe he even existed, and certainly was no prophet.
The similarities are that they believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and that Christianity took the Jewish sacred texts and added to them. However, christians don't believe in the 613 commandments of the "Old Testament" as being valid for today. Jews believe that they are everlasting commandments throughout all their generations.
Christianity and Judaism are not very similar at all in practice, and the jewish people believe that christians are pagans (3 gods thing).

Christianity and Judaism are radically different faiths that share little in common. Christianity shares far more with a host of pagan faiths. Some basic concepts where take from Judaism but at this point they do not even resemble those concepts any more. Even the concept of the messiah was taken and completely changed.

We worship and pray to the same living God. The God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Yes, the 10 commandments are important.

Difference: Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. There are some Jews that believe Jesus is the Messiah and they are Messianic Jews.

No, when I attended Sabbath services, I was surprised that except for not mentioning Jesus the message was the pretty much the same: "love and forgiveness". Of course, this was just a few times and not a theological survey of beliefs.

Belief in one Creator who desires people to act in a certain way.

Remember that Jesus, and all his disciples were Jews.
Christianity started out as a Jewish sect. (It's evolved a lot since then, however, and incorporated ideas from several ancient religions).

nah. It inherited most of the bad things about Judaism as it existed at that time. Fortunately, Judaism mostly grew out of things like rampant misogeny and xenophobia.

(And if ANY people DESERVE to be xenophobic!)

Mr. Nolte,
I think that you are referring to what most people hear. I guess you've never checked out the Letter to the Hebrews. It's in the New Testament.
