In my wedding I got a watch as my wedding gift from my brother (and his wife). A watch worth $100.
My brother recently asked me whether I liked his gift and said he had given nearly $10000 to buy me a wedding present. I said thank you and closed the matter. i know his wife cheated on him by pocketing his money. Did I do the right thing by not telling my brother that his wife has cheated him?

Yes. Your brother will find out on his own. This could take your brother a little time. You can not do wrongful things forever.

Does your brother know it was a watch that was given to you? Why would anyone spend $10k on a watch for a wedding gift? That doesnt make sense? I could understand on a bday gift but wedding gift?

Well i would say something but dont come straight out like that it will only cause problems. I would go get the watch appraised to have it added onto my insurance and when it didnt appraise for what he said he paid, I would take him the appraisal and let him handle it from there. I would blame the jewelry store first, I would ask him where it was purchased in front of his wife and let her know that you are getting appraised, she may come clean on her own.

If they're married then it's THEIR money. I think you did the right thing because it's their business not yours. Anyway, who tells people how much they spend on a present??????
