So I'm trying to grow my hair out (right now its about 3-4 inches), and every morning when I wake up, my hair is very unruly, kinda oily, and curly and sticking out in every random position. I can no longer just wake up and go with that "bedhead" look. I have to wash/shampoo and gel it before I leave, which is time-consuming, because otherwise I look terrible. I can't even comb it because it becomes so wavy/curly overnight. Is there anything I can do the night before to prevent this from happening on a daily basis?

There is no getting around the oily thing except shampoo. Work with what you've got. Have your hair trimmed to accommodate your natural curls. I stopped fighting my ultra curly hair. Now it's chic! Who knew?
