I do work full time and go to school full time, i am going to pay her what i can, but i have heard that there are some programs that will help pay. Just wondering

I'M GOING TO PAY HER!...I was told that she would be able to be paid by the state and i was just wondering if there is any truth to that.

Yes, depending on your income.
Check the California website. I think your sister will have to be at least 18 though. No, she does not need to be licensed unless she takes care of other people's children too.

--hopefully it is not to late for you to grow up!!! You are setting yourself up here to get some awful anwsers--like this if you can afford to be sitting at your computer on the internet how come the state should pay for your babysitting????!!!!

Why should they, she is your child not the states. Get a job and pay your sister yourself.

I hope not. Taxpayers don't need to pay for your babysitter, especially if she is your sister. It sounds like you are trying to work the system.

they will pay her to stay home and watch your child only if the child has a learning disability and can't attend school. other wise you SOL! why don't you pay her?
