Do you think this is reliable. I had something approved but the status on the web never changed when I checked it. It said it was still pending at California service center. Has anyone else had this happen?

It is not reliable. For that matter even the case processing times are such a joke. They say that they are doing 12/21/06 for a particular category when there are people from 12/01/06 whose applications are pending. If you go on to www.trackitt.com you can get a better estimate of whats going on with your case. Believe the paper in hand and also call USCIS to have their server update your case status so that it doesnt screw you in another way and make you out of status because of computer glitch or data entry mistakes.

Uscis Case Status Not Updated

Actually, I've found it reliable for all the visas I've done. I do quite a few a month and have found that the case status was always on track with what was going on. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't consistent though. Not only is there a lot of work to do, but I think there are still a lot of older people employed there who may not be as computer savvy as desired.

Yes, it is unreliable. It is not always updated. Many many times I have read reports of members of various forums finding the same situation. Many report their case status never being updated.
