tough one. I am always cold so as far as in the house with AC on, i would have on long sleeves, but outside, not really do about. The hot patches may have an effect on your tattoo, definitely check into that. is it a size that you could wear like a sweatband over it? or that you could say you have carple tunnel acting up, and wear a wrist brase? Just trying to be creative. This is something that is going to have to come out sooner or later. I don't usually watch 7th Heaven, but a few weeks ago i did and the youngest daughter just got a tattoo, and was feeling way guilty. Little did she know that all of her older sibs all have tats and her parents do too. In the end, she showed her parents and Lucy the next daughter up in age showed hers. But the other sibs still all have to hide theirs and the parents are very small in very discreate areas so theres are safe. FYI, the parents know about all of them. Are you sure he isn't just sparing you the talk until you fess up?

I know you were looking for non critical answers but why would you want to get a tattoo that you have to be worried about covering up until you move out of your parents house?? personally I feel like you made a poor choice on the location if you wanted to get a tattoo and were worried about keeping it hidden from your dad I would have went for the shoulder blade or somewhere else on my back but that's just me.
The whole arm warmer thing isn't a bad idea, you could also try a sheer shirt where it could be covered but still breath.....Good luck!!!!!

Your dad sounds a lot like my dad. I would just tell him about it but don't make it sound like its a big deal or he will turn it into a big deal. These other people are right, he is more likely to be the most upset if you hide it from him and he finds out. What is your tattoo of? Is there sentimental meaning behind it? If there is, tell your dad the reason you got it and what it means to you. He'll be more likely to understand something that means something rather than just a random object on your arm. I hid mine from my parents for a long time and my mom finally saw it when I was really sick and in the hospital and I needed her help tying my gown shut in the back. I dunno...just something to think about. The sooner he gets used to seeing it the better, right?

Tell your dad that you are old enough to make decisions for yourself.
If that's not an option....well, honestly, I really think you should tell him yourself. I'm sure he loves you...I mean you're still staying there at 23! It would be so much worse if he finds out by checking your myspace page...or hearing about it from one of your friends. Remember that you can't hide it forever...sooner or later he's gonna find out.

i don't really know.
i mean, it may work for a day or two, but don't you think he will get suspicious if you are wearing an arm warmer on the same arm, everyday, all day, in the heat??
i suggest you just tell him because more than likely he will eventually find out.

That's an option, so is makeup. My neighbor has to cover her's for work and she uses stage makeup. I have to warn you though, one slip up and now your dad will be even more angry. It's now, "I've gotten a tattoo AND I've hidden it from you." So be careful and good luck...you might just be better off telling him.

makeup can work wonders for covering up tattoos, especially these little packages that are specially made for covering up tattoos. you can also try wearing fishnet, which can work on days when you don't plan on spending more than 10-20 minutes with your dad.

There are makeup concealers designed just for covering tattoos and discolorations. One brand I've heard about for years is Dermablend.

Hey, did you know there is a really good product on the market that COMPLETELY covers tatoos and dark birthmarks? It's called Dermablend and you can get it at the better dept. stores, like Macys, gottchalks, etc. I have my clients use it for job interviews and when they work somewhere that forbids tatoos.
